Maa Jwala Ji temple is one of the Shaktipeeths, located in the Jwalamukhi town of Kangra, in Himachal Pradesh state of India. Divine Maa Durga manifests at Jwala Ji in the form of a set of flames of fire. Jwala in Sanskrit means flames.
Devi Sati’s tongue fell here and manifested in the form of these nine flames. These flames burn endlessly, inside the temple through rock fissures – receiving fuel from the eternal source of energy, which is Maa Jwala Ji Herself. A visit to this revered place can liberate one of all pain and sorrow. Maa Jwala Ji burns away all our sufferings and blesses all with happiness.
